Growing up with a grandmother in the beauty industry that specialized in wigs and watching MTV music videos gave me all my hair inspiration. 80’s hair was the best of the best to me. This 22yr. veteran has extensive continuing education in Aveda and hair extension training. I specialize in cuts, coloring and highlighting (Balayage or lived in color technique). Curly cuts (Curly method techniques) are all my Faves. If you are wanting to transform with hair extensions I am trained in all types of beaded row extensions. Lauren

I am pretty sure it was in 1987, when I was 12 years old, that I knew I wanted to be a “beautician”. I grew up across the street from a Beauty Salon. I can remember the smells of the perms and looking at all the supply’s. I was like a magnet to it. It made me feel so happy inside.

In 1991, I joined the Bridgecity Cosmetology class. This is where the class instructor, Janice Overman, who was my neighbor/cousin with the beauty shop. She always encouraged me and still does. After I received my 1500 hours and certification I took my first hands on training in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. I studied for a week at the Sebastian Academy. Later moved to Spring, Texas and joined a British Hairdressing Company.

I later became an In Salon teacher. My passion grew helping young stylist grow. I moved to back to South East, Texas in November 1998, where I joined a salon, In Beaumont, that had the same vision I did. At this point I was a 23 years old. I traveled and studied under some of the Top Hair Artist in the industry over the next 8.5 years. In 2007, I took a leap of faith and went independent. Best decision ever. My goals have not changed, but have grown. Grown to love my industry even more. I am now 46 years old. I now work side by side with my daughter, Taylor Payne, who is a color specialist at Helmet Salon in Beaumont, Texas.

Taylor

I am pretty sure it was placed in me to be in a salon doing something involving hair. I grew up my whole life with a single Mom who is a professional hairdresser. I remember when I was in elementary and the summers I would go with her to work and play on mannequins all day until she got off. I had so much fun being there with my mom and all her co workers. We would head home and she would talk to me about doing hair one day if I wanted too.

As I got into high school, I had a chance to take cosmetology my Junior (2012) and senior year. I went ahead and took it thinking it would be a “back up” plan. Little did I know I would pursue it full time and love it as much as I do. My Papa helped me with my first investment on a professional color kit. He was so excited for me to start a career path that he knew and believed I would excel in.

This year is 8 years I have been a professional Hairstylist. I work next to my Mom and her faith in me has pushed me to keep growing. I look forward to all the years ahead of me at Helmet Salon. I want to thank God first. I thank my husband, Kolbi, who works two jobs and still finds time to help me juggle kids around so I can pull my long hours when needed. I want to thank my Nana and my Mudder for letting me practice and try new things on their hair color from the very beginning and my step mom Denise for allowing me to be as creative as I wanted to be with her hair color.

Jessie

Hi, my name is Jesse I’m from what some people call  “down the bayou” Lacrose, La. I’ve been a licensed hairdresser for over 14 years. Some of the things I enjoy most about the hair industry are: coloring, hi-lights, eyebrow waxing, saying, up-do’s and having the ability to make people look and feel good about themselves. There’s just something about bringing a smile to someone’s face. It humbles me to know that a person can put their trust in me. Most importantly, being able to listen to what the client wants and achieving their request is my main goal a a stylist.

Toni

I have 16 years of experience as a hair stylist. I graduated from SETXCI and have been certified in many cutting, coloring, smoothing, and extension techniques over the course of my career. I take into account my clients lifestyles and daily routines to ensure they can take the look and achieve it easily at home. My passion is to help everyone that sits in my chair discover their true inner beauty and leave the salon feeling relaxed, renewed, and confident. When I’m not doing hair or being my daughters Uber, I love cooking delicious meals that feed a crowd.

Connie

Hi! I’m Connie and have been in the hair industry over 30 years. I was a Salon Market Trainer with Ulta beauty with 10 salons. While there I really enjoyed training new talent for next. Now, back in the cozy atmosphere of the private world sector my favorite things to do are precision cuts and customizing color to create unique looks for each of my clients.! As a tenured stylist I deliver the highest service level while using my madd skills. I love meeting new people and I can’t wait to meet you. I’d really like to see you in my chair, and take it from there

Lacey

Hi, My name is Lacey and I have been licensed for 5 years now and loving every minute of it! I love all things hair, all cuts, any color! I love when clients want to step out of the box and do something different and funky just as much as my long layered blondes. Helping my clients feel their best self is what has made me grateful to have my passion as a career. Whether it’s a simple root touch up, or we are doing your hair and makeup for your wedding day, no feeling can replace a happy client at the end of a service. I believe that workingdillegently and having good communication with my client are the keys to making their hair dreams come true.

James

I’ve been in the beauty industry for over two decades. I started cutting hair at 18 in Dallas, Texas, moved back home to Southeast Texas at 21.
